Welcome to World Stage Theatre was formed in 2006 but has been producing plays and educating youth in Portland since 1995.  World Stage Theatre is a theater company with artistic focus on African-American history, culture, literature, and original works designed to integrate the academic, social and personal needs of youth and young adults by exploring history and increasing literacy through artistic expression. Our mission is to encourage youth and young adults to approach life with discipline, curiosity, courage and confidence.  Through literature exploration and traveling experiences, World Stage Theatre endeavors to give artists the tools to communicate and the platform on which to use them.  The exciting, exhilarating aspect of this theatre is that it transcends beyond traditions and moves into a real life, first person experience - face to face.  From the soul encompassing singing, to the hearty laughter or unorthodox dancing and acting, every second is a treasured, emotional meeting with important historical figures and modern day art.

World Stage Theatre is proud to have a board of directors who bring with them valuable experience and knowledge and has worked and lived within the community for many years.
