Donations

Thank you to all our 2010/2011 season volunteers.  Last year, volunteers donated over 4500 hours of their time to live performances run by World Stage Theatre.  Many volunteers came from churches, civic groups, and corporations. These volunteers simply felt a strong calling to help in any way they could.  Residents, local businesses and organizations donated money, food or life skills expertise (and in many cases, all three) to help World Stage Theatre meet the needs of our youth.  See how you can get involved during our 2011/2012 season.

Youth were taught and performed the dance to Pride and Prejudice
A Day In Ashland
With funding for arts organizations being cut at a rapid speed, imagine what small theater companies who rely on fundraising efforts and donations experience.  That's why when World Stage Theatre received information about Oregon Shakespeare Festival's Open House it was an opportunity not to be missed.  Although Ashland is five hours away, the drive was well worth it.  Along with Agape Drama Ministry, once there, four of our youth were taught a dance from the play Pride and Prejudice.  Let's just say the crowd was impressed and the students received many compliments.  Next was a tour of the theater, and unexpectedly, an interview with Channel 12 News.  What a privilege!  As if that wasn't enough, a tour of the costume shop was very rewarding.  Seeing the whole process from thought to stage had the youth intrigued with many insightful questions.  Our time in Ashland kept getting better.  We were personally invited back!
